Aston Martin is preparing for the launch of its first SUV model, the DBX. According to CEO Andy Palmer, this will probably be the most important car in the history of the British car company.
In an interview with the Detroit Bureau about the future of Aston Martin and the role of DBX in the coming years, the leader said: “We put our hearts and hearts to create beautiful SUVs. the world’s most important and more importantly, it has to be a true Aston Martin. ”
While overall demand for cars is declining globally, Andy Palmer said the market for vehicles like the DBX still has room to expand.
He emphasized: The DBX may be the most important car the company has ever produced. In the context of Aston Martin trying to compete in all segments of the luxury car market, the SUV model will target the two largest automobile markets in the world, China and the US.
Previously, Aston Martin had many times “teased” about the SUV model expected to launch in December 2019. Based on visible images and videos, the DBX still bears the signature design of Aston Martin, from the grille to the soft curves on the body.
DBX was developed on the basis of completely new architecture of Aston Martin. Power on the vehicle comes from a 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 producing 503 hp.
